Faith Travels from Pamela Archer…
I read about Faith Travels books and I do have a testimony. I recently obtained my medical records from one of the doctors that attended to my resuscitation. I had gone on Father's Day 2005 to my property located locally in Griffin GA where we had three horses, Fancy, a young 2 yr old mare, Patches a 13 yr old Welch pony and Fuzzy a beautiful mare 6 yrs old that looked just like the horse in the movie Hidalgo.
We had left a family gathering and I needed to feed and worm all three horses. We loved our horses and they were not known to be aggressive they were just horses that acted like horses. Upon arriving at the land we fed just enough grain to get them to move in so that I could catch without having to play any chase games.
However, when you involve food and horses they tend to go into a frenzy with their survival instincts and pecking orders. Fuzzy had come in and taken over she was dominant at the time. I was about eight feet behind this mare when I was suddenly accompanied by Patches and Fancy one on each side of me.
Fuzzy, eight feet in front of me began to run backwards to maintain pecking order and keep Patches and Fancy away from eating as she would eat first. I saw her coming and the glitter of her recently shod hoof reflecting in the evening sun. She was coming fast so I had to make a split second decision. I immediately stepped off to the left taking a direct hit in the right kidney. At the time I only knew that I was in trouble I screamed that alerted my husband who had insisted on coming with me that evening he was always concerned about us when we were around the horses. He came running, I never dropped to the ground, I took a hit and it was a hard one. The excruciating pain was instant... I began to feel somewhat weak, but was coherent.
My husband helped me to the car and we raced off to the hospital. I don’t remember much of the trip there, only leaving the land. I do remember getting there at the emergency room entrance and that they brought a wheel chair and I told them I felt weak. Off we went into the emergency room for a night of surgery. We went to the cat scan and they were doing x-rays. The pain was unbearable. I remember telling the nurse I was concerned about the bowels. I knew I had internal injuries, but I didn't know what kind. I was getting my scan when I told the Lord, " Lord if you are finished with me take me home, but if you are not, fix it." I knew that this could have been the last time I would have ever seen my family.
Prayers
God and relationships were all that were on my mind. About that time my nurse yelled get a crash cart in here now. It would be many hours before I would know my outcome. My family endured a night full of faith and fear. They along with several churches were there praying many from Voice to the Nations and Eagle's Nest Ministries. Prayer lines were in action while the doctors continued to bring to them discouraging news. They were preparing my family for my possible death, but the prayers of the previous day were still wrapped around my life as several women from Eagle's Nest had been at my land the day before, they just showed up and I just happened to be there. Isn't that amazing?! We were standing on the side of the road gathered in a circle praying for each other and I remember one lady specifically praying against the attacks of the enemy and blessing the land.
Little did we know how things would be the next day. I made it through the removal of what was left of my right kidney and some complications that occurred during that surgery. I had lost lots of blood and had to be given lots of blood and plasma. God was with me and he decided that no weapon formed against me should prosper. The prognosis was given to my family not much hope was given to them, still preparing them for a discouraging outcome. That if I made it I would be in ICU for six weeks. But a few days later was I was strong enough to go to a a regular room.
Started Ministry
Praise the Lord! God fixed it! But great was my peace even when my body was extremely weak because I knew dead or alive I would be alright. God's hand was upon me and I will always remember His hand that day and every day forth. He walks with me and talks with me. Six weeks later I was back at work. I believe in the power of God. He is able to do above all that we could ask or think. After my recovery, my sister and I began the ministry (Encouraging Hope Ministries) God had put in my heart years before. Because time is not ours, it is His and we must work while it is yet day. Praise the Lord and may what He did for me bless someone else who needs to know He is God!
Sincerely,
Pamela Archer
