Hearing God's Voice-Lesson 1
by Lisa Walker
July 14, 2010
Only out of an intimate relationship with God do we come to recognize God's Voice. Our relationship with Him is the most important key to hearing His Voice and knowing when He is speaking. God doesn't want us to become experts at using formulas, but he wants an intimate relationship with us where we depend on Him alone. Hearing God's Voice does not depend on a method or a formula, but an intimate relationship with Him.
Hearing God's Voice and being led by the Holy Spirit is very exciting. God has a good plan for our lives, but we can miss out on so many good things if we don't learn how to hear God's Voice.
Hearing God's Voice…Listening is Very Important
Mark 4:23 "If you have ears to hear, listen. Hearing God's Voice is something we all long for, but did you know that it's not hard to do? In fact, God only wants us to listen to Him, but He only wants us to hear His Voice.

Your Season is Coming!
by Lisa Walker
My Favorite Season
Fall is my favorite season of all the seasons. I'm not sure why Fall is my favorite season, maybe because it brings back happy memories. I love the many shades of red, yellow and orange leaves clinging to the trees, watching the leaves fall and the crispness and newness in the air. For some reason, it always seems to me that it is a fresh new beginning for me and a time when I sense a new hope in my spirit. I certainly always need this refreshing.
"Be not weary in well doing: because in due season you will reap, if you faint not. " Gal. 6:9
This is a a conditional promise from God. We must keep doing well and we must not faint through whatever problem we are facing. Sometimes it may seem that there will never be a breakthrough for us and it is so easy to grow weary and to try to manipulate and control situations. Sometimes the easiest thing becomes the hardest thing for us and that is letting go of the situation and completely turning it over to God. I know for myself, personally this has always been my biggest struggle.
I can only imagine that God is saying, "Why don't you let me take care of this for you?"
When I finally give up and say, " I can't do anything about this, please help me", I imagine that He says, "Good now I can finally do something." By us trying to take care of all of our problems ourselves probably stops God from doing anything, especially when we are operating out of God's will and out of His principles. Now I try my best to turn my problems over to God right away which is pure wisdom, but like I said I still have my struggles. I say let's do what we can in the natural and then God can take care of the supernatural. Let us place our problems in the Hands of God our Father and just watch what He can do that we cannot.
God has His own timing
We sometimes may feel like we have missed it or that God has no answer for us, but God always has an answer and sometimes only time will tell. God has His own timing and I don't know exactly why, but He does. Many times He is the God of the midnight hour and He is stretching our faith and teaching us to believe Him for greater things. Believing brings us right into the middle of God's rest. And during the wait our strength is renewed.
For everything there is a season
For everything there is a season and we are all going through different seasons in our lives. Every season of life brings new changes and new challenges. God uses the bitter, lonely cold winter season of our life to develop character in us and compassion for others. Winter seasons do not last forever and our due season does come if we faint not. Dear friend, do not despair, spring is just around the corner.
If you're going through a difficult season, my best advice is to turn it over to let go and turn it over to God right away...Pray, Hear, Obey and WAIT! Remember that this too shall pass and that those that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and mount up on eagle's wings. Isaiah 40:31
DON'T GIVE UP....YOUR SEASON IS COMING!

"Miss Inspiration"
Author: Unknown
As the graduation processional began, I was startled to see how slowly the line was moving! I kept wondering about it, until, into the door at the end of the long line, there came a wisp of a girl. She was walking with much difficulty; every step jarred her whole body. Then, I realized that she was braced with iron from her head to her heels. And the speed of the procession was timed to make it easy for her.
Half way down the aisle, her cap jarred down over her eyes. I saw her smilingly nudge the big 200 pound boy who was marching with her. With an answering smile, he adjusted her cap, because her arms couldn't reach it.
When the time came, the principal conferred the honors, all but one. He said, "There is one other medal given by the students. It will be presented by the captain of the football team to a young lady who has been an inspiration to our entire school." Then, that same 200 pound boy came forward, leading the little girl in the iron braces. His speech was something like this.
"This is the biggest medal I ever saw, because every one in the school wanted to have a part in buying it, but it isn't big enough to express our gratitude to this young lady. On one side of it is inscribed her name, Christine. On the other is our pet name for her, Miss Inspiration. Through these years of school life, she has worn iron braces and suffered continually, but no hardship has ever been tough enough to wipe the smile off her face. Sometimes when the going has gotten rough for us out on the athletic field or elsewhere, someone invariably would mention her name and we would just grin and buckle down."
Although this young girl suffered much, she did not let her "iron shoes" cause her to live a defeated and useless life. Rather than whine and complain and feel sorry for herself, she rose above her circumstances, wearing her iron shoes with honor. "Miss Inspiration" made a difference in the lives of others...not because of her circumstances, but because of her Christ-like attitude.
Christian, how did you wear your iron shoes in 2009? And how are you going to wear them in 2010? Let's decide that we will be "Miss Inspiration" in this new year.
Give It Everything You've Got...
by Lisa Walker
When my three year old grandson Ryan plays Tee-Ball he gives it everything he's got. He's an all around good player and major league material if I do say so myself. As soon as he hits the ball, he immediately takes off running with his arms swinging by his side and then he slides into home plate. Everyone watching gets the biggest kick out of it because you can tell he's giving it everything he's got.
Shouldn't this be the way that we all should be? While it's hard to be this enthusiastic about everything we do...let's determine in our hearts to find that one thing we are good at and give it everything we've got.
Are You Still Standing?

Biblical Prophecy is Being Fulfilled Daily
In these extremely difficult times where biblical prophecy is being fulfilled daily, people are facing issues of all kinds. Some of us are going through things that we never dreamed imaginable. Some are just a paycheck away from being homeless. Lately, I have driven through exclusive lakefront communities and passed by expensive homes with for sale signs in their front yards. Some of these people are losing their homes and selling all of their possessions---- I know because I have walked through some of these homes and visited their sales and they have shared some of their problems with me. From the rich to the poor, not many are excluded.
Problems Are Coming at Us Fast
Problems are coming at us at with such force and speed that sometimes we can barely get past one problem before another one comes knocking at our door. With each blow it can finally build up to the point where we fall to the ground and we feel as if we just cannot get back up. This is time when we need to muster up every bit of courage and strength we have left and pick ourselves up. We must rise out of any pit we may have fallen into and if we see our friend in the pit we should throw them a lifeline and help them out if we are able.
Successful People Are Resilient and Stand Back Up After Failure
Blow by blow, whether it be losing your job, cutbacks in your income, losing your home, losing your car, divorce, the death of a loved one, with each blow it causes a snowball effect to where the problem seems impossible and the situation appears hopeless. Let's face it, when you have lost your job, your car and the value of your home is not even equal to what you owe on it ---- it will affect you in some way. This is when we do have to humble ourselves and turn toward God and trust in Him. We cannot though, just sit or lie down and expect our help to magically appear out of the sky.
We will have to be resilient and resourceful and do the best that we can with what God has given us. Surveys tell us that the most successful people have all experienced failure, but that the most common quality among them is being resilient and resourceful. With each failure, they always get back up. We need to Stand spiritually...some of us may not be able to stand physically, but just like I heard from a quote once, the little boy that could not walk said, "I'm standing up in my heart."
God Will Take Care of Us
He says in His word that we are not to worry about what we should eat or what we should wear because God even takes care of the sparrows and if He takes care of the sparrows then surely He will take care of us.
Dueteronomy 5:31
But as for you, stand here by Me, and I will speak to you all the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments which you shall teach them, that they may observe them in the land which I am giving them to possess.'
Dueteronomy 7:24
And He will deliver their kings into your hand, and you will destroy their name from under heaven; no one shall be able to stand against you until you have destroyed them.
Let Us Rise Up
With each blow that the enemy throws our way, Let Us Rise Up, Let Us Stand and We Will See the Salvation of the Lord.
Let us turn our hearts toward God where our redemption and provision lies. Let us STAND ON HIS PROMISES
No matter what you are facing and no matter what is coming against you, there is always HOPE in GOD. Your future may look bleak, but God says, I know the plans I have for you. Plans to give you a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
Jesus is Our Wonderful Counselor
Let us keep going forward and let us not look back and let us forget the bad things of the past because through it all, our God has good plans for our lives. We need to stand up in our hearts just like the little boy who could not walk and look toward our Lord and Our Savoir, Our Wonderful Counselor. Let us look to Jesus.
God bless you,

Let Go and Let God in 2009
Dear Friends,
Have you ever been so frustrated with a situation and how it is going that you decide that you will just take matters into your own hands? I have a confession to make, that is just what I have recently done. In doing so, I was saying to God that I just don't trust him to do it quick enough for me and that I can do a better job.
I have repented and asked for forgiveness, but in that repentance, God asks that I don't turn around and do the same thing again. True repentance is not only recognizing that we have sinned, but to not return again to the same issue.
With everything that is going on with the economy and just life in general today, it is so easy for us to get our eyes off of Jesus and onto the problem at hand. We may seek out worldly advice that even seems like good advice, but in doing so we are straying farther and farther away from God and His wisdom and timing. We have to remember that God's ways are not our ways.
I personally know that sometimes one of the hardest things to do is to let go and let God...it is easier said than done. But when we let go of a problem, get to our breaking point and turn it over to God and say, "God I need your help, I can't do this by myself" then we are in a good place. I can only imagine that God would be saying, " Good, now I can finally do something."
I know and you do also that when God comes on the scene that He can do anything and what seems to be an insurmountable problem to us is only a minor thing to God.
When I settle down to be still, I remember all of the wonderful things, pure miracles that God has done for me and others (because I read miraculous testimonies all of the time). I would say that my greatest frustration is leaning toward my flesh at times and not immediately releasing any situation to God.
Oh, how I pray for the grace to be able to do so....my goal for 2009 is to Let Go and Let God. The best advice I could give anyone for 2009 is to turn any problem over to God immediately and to seek only Godly counsel at all times.
God Bless You All,
Lisa Walker
